Photography (MFA)
The Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Photography is a rigorous, studio-based graduate program focused on advancing contemporary photographic practice through critical inquiry, experimentation, and sustained research. The program encourages students to develop a distinct artistic voice while exploring the evolving role of photography within visual culture. Through intensive studio production, students investigate lens-based media across traditional, digital, and expanded formats, engaging questions of representation, narrative, identity, memory, and technology.

Rooted in critique and dialogue, the program integrates advanced studio work with graduate seminars in art theory, history, and critical studies. Students examine the historical foundations of photography alongside emerging practices such as moving image, installation, book arts, and interdisciplinary approaches. Emphasis is placed on conceptual clarity, technical mastery, and the articulation of ideas both visually and in writing.
